In this 5 week course, student will immerse themselves in all 11 systems of the human body. Throughout each class, students will learn, interact and apply each system of the body through engaging lectures, fun images, lively videos and exciting activities. If your student is interested is learning more about the human body to prepare for a health/anatomy/physiology course, to improve one's fitness or ability in a sport through an understanding of the biomechanics of the body or to have fun and engage in some enriching science material with other classmates... then this is a course for you! This class serves as Part 8 of my Middle School Life Science Series. This fits right in line with the overall design and objectives of the Life Science Series as a whole. I have built this series around Next Generation Science Standards so that your students learns material necessary for future educational opportunities and learning. Below is the schedule throughout the 5 weeks: Week 1: Digestive and Urinary Systems Anatomy and Physiology Week 2: Skeletal and Muscular Systems Anatomy and Physiology Week 3: Nervous System, Endocrine and Reproductive Systems Anatomy and Physiology Week 4: Cardiovascular and Respiratory Systems Anatomy and Physiology Week 5: Integumentary and Lymphatic/Immune Systems Anatomy and Physiology

Students will understand the anatomy and physiology of each system of the human body.
Standards:
MS-LS1-8. Gather and synthesize information that sensory receptors respond to stimuli by sending messages to the brain for immediate behavior or storage as memories.
MS-LS1-3. Use argument supported by evidence for how the body is a system of interacting subsystems composed of groups of cells.

Students will be learning about introductory concepts related to the reproductive system during week 3 of the class. I am a Washington State certified health teacher (K-12). I am familiar with the appropriate depth of understanding necessary for middle school students.

I currently am a credentialed teacher in Washington State and hold my endorsements in biology (5-12), health (K-12) and fitness (K-12).
I currently teach AP Biology, honors biology, anatomy and physiology and health science.
Last year, I taught biology, environmental science, health, physics and P.E. to middle and high school students.
I hold my Masters Degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis in life sciences and health.
I received my Bachelors Degree in Athletic Training from Whitworth University. I completed 1,250 clinical hours working with medical doctors, physicians assistants and physical therapists in physical therapy clinics, collegiate, semi-professional and high school athletic training rooms, emergency rooms and urgent cares.
