每週 1-2 小時. This homework is not meant to be turned in for a grade, but meant as additional resources to help your learner at home continue to scale in their reading.
評估
Throughout the course, we do recommend that you book separate 1:1 reading assessments every 4-6 weeks to make sure your child is on par with the program, and if they're not, your assessment teacher can point you in the right direction on what to work on at home. Please schedule that assessment using this link: 📅https://outschool.com/classes/11-student-assessment-xxqyURdf?usid=eTXGXV4M&signup=true&utm_campaign=share_activity_link

T E A C H I N G S T Y L E:

⭐Our teaching style at Shields Scholars is light-hearted and fun.
⭐We use Nearpod for this course, which is an interactive app for the lesson content.
This way, kids not only learn via visual and auditory learning, they get to learn kinesthetically as well since they are physically involved in the lesson with simple games such as matching, drawing, memory tests, drag & drop features, and everyone's favorite - Time to Climb. Time to Climb is an interactive quiz where each child chooses a character for the game and as they answer questions correctly, their character races other students to the top of a mountain. First one to the top wins.
⭐You can find a parent demo Nearpod lesson below under the "Materials" section to use for free to see if this would be something your child would like.

R E A D I N G A S S E S S M E N T S:

Students do NOT have to be in 3rd grade to attend this course, but their reading level should be at a minimum of an M level or quarter 4 of 2nd grade to begin this course.

If you do not know your child's current reading level, you can schedule a 1:1 reading assessment with Ms. Cassie here:
