Welcome to Social Studies! This ongoing weekly Social Studies course is designed to be an introduction to the world we live in for kindergarten and first grade. This class covers four units over a 37 week period. Each week is a stand alone topic which makes it easy to start this class at any time or to drop in if your student is looking for a short term class. Students will improve their understanding of the world the live in including traits of a good citizen, geography, US symbols and systems, communities, and economics.
I am a certified elementary teacher with 9 years of classroom experience and 3 years of experience on Outschool. I have taught pre-k through 3rd grade.

Lessons are aligned to kindergarten and first grade standards according to: National Council for Social Studies Common Core State Standards I also use the following sources: National Geographic for Kids Brittanica for Kids Time Kids
