Bakers will learn how to read a recipe and bake delicious Red Velvet cupcakes. First, we will read over my favorite recipe for these cupcakes and have a short discussion and answer questions before we move on. I will teach the bakers tips for properly measuring ingredients, making sure all ingredients are well incorporated, how long to preheat the oven, and other cupcake baking basics. I have enjoyed baking sweet treats for more than 20 years. I have baked wedding cakes, birthday cakes, cupcakes, anniversary cakes, and have supplied cupcakes and other baked goods for many events. I have two favorite cupcake recipes and this is one of them. Join "Kimyco in the Kitchen" to bake up this southern recipe.

Tools: Apron (optional) 2 standard size 12-cup muffin/cupcake pans or 1 standard size 24-cup pan 24 cupcake liners 1 rubber spatula 1 butterknife hand or stand mixer 2 large and 1 medium-size bowl wire whisk liquid measuring cup measuring cups and spoons oven mitts or pot holders 2-3 cooling racks Optional: 12-inch piping bag and a wide-mouth tip of your choice. Ingredients: butter cream cheese confectioners sugar granulated sugar eggs flour cocoa powder baking soda salt vegetable oil white distilled vinegar vanilla extract red liquid food coloring buttermilk or (we can make a substitute with milk and white vinegar)
