課堂經歷

Students will gain confidence in the kitchen by learning delicious recipes and developing their cooking and baking skills.
They will also learn how to measure ingredients and put them in order of usage, mix, and bake them in a very hands-on way. 
I have two degrees in culinary arts - one taken in Brazil and one in the U.S. I was born and raised in Brazil, and I have been working with culinary for 11 years. 
Supply list for the week of 04/29.

SAFETY WARNING - Every learner MUST check in at the beginning of the class by opening their cameras to be clearly and visibly identified. Learners who do not have cameras or fail to open them to be identified will be immediately removed from the class. If you do not have a camera, you have to contact safety@outschool.com to do a quick verification with the Trust & Safety team to get your "verified" badge. 


This recipe is kind of easy to make, but it has many steps to get the lasagna done, so please get in class on time, be focused on following the instructions, be organized, and prepare for a longer class. To make things easier for you during class, you can separate all the ingredients before class.

LASAGNA

This recipe yields an 8 in x 6 in pan or 4 servings. If you are doubling the recipe, please call someone to help you.

Ingredients:
Meat sauce:
1 Tbsp oil
1/2 onion, diced
1lb ground beef (85/15 or 93/7%)
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp dried oregano
1/4 tsp salt
TT black pepper
1/3 cup chicken stock
1 24 oz jar marinara or tomato basil pasta sauce
TT fresh basil leaves
Bechamel sauce:
2 Tbsp butter
2 Tbsp AP flour
1 1/4 cup milk
1/4 tsp salt
TT nutmeg
1/2 cup cream cheese
Assembling:
1/2 pack lasagna pasta (regular – to cook in class)
1/2 lb shredded mozzarella cheese

TT= to taste

Equipment and Utensils:
Stove
Oven/broil
Large pot for pasta
2 medium-size pots
Wooden spoon
Tongs
Skimmer
Baking sheet pan
8x6in baking glassware or disposable pan
Measuring cups and spoons
Chef’s knife
Cutting board
Dinner plate
Small bowls and containers for ingredients

This class requires the use of equipment and utensils such as a stove, oven, knives, blender, mixers, and others. Most of the recipes ask for cutting, boiling, frying, baking products, and other hazardous tasks that can lead to cuts, burns, and other kinds of injuries during their preparation. I will be teaching the safety of operating equipment and using utensils, but parental supervision and help during these tasks are required at all times. The recipes call for many ingredients, so please, check them for any food restrictions and/or potential allergens for your children. Each week I will be posting the supply list for the next class. 

Outschool does not have a tool that allows your payment to become a credit when you miss class. Due to all the costs involved in the class preparation, the fact that the class recording will be available for 90 days for learners to watch as many times as they want, and you can also ask me for a transfer for one of the available sections, I do not issue refunds or open time for makeup sections for missed classes.
