In this on-going class, students will be introduced to various improv games. Improv is an excellent skill that helps people conquer fears and learn how to work collaboratively in a comfortable setting. Improvisation is a great way to help students work on communication and social skills. These are highly interactive classes where students are expected to talk with one another and practice fun and growth-building improv activities. Students will be able practice social skills. Students will gain inferencing skills. Students will create character sketches. Students will participate in collaborative skills.
I took Improv classes through Act One Studios and Second City in Chicago. I have an after school Improv group at the school I teach at and have coached Improv for 5 years.
Students will need a pen or pencil and a journal to keep notes in.
