Class Experience

Improv is all about thinking on your feet, working as a team, and having fun! In this interactive class, students will develop confidence, creativity, and communication skills through engaging improv games and exercises. Whether your learner is brand new to improv or already has experience, this class provides a supportive space for them to explore their creativity, take risks, and build friendships—all while laughing along the way!  

What Will Be Taught?
- The fundamentals of improvisation, including spontaneity, active listening, and collaboration  
- Scene-building techniques, character development, and storytelling  
- How to embrace mistakes and turn them into creative opportunities  
- Quick-thinking exercises to boost confidence and adaptability  
- Teamwork skills through partner and group activities  

What Topics Will We Cover? 
Each session will feature a mix of:  
- Warm-ups and icebreakers to get comfortable and energized  
- Short-form improv games that encourage quick thinking and creativity  
- Scene work and storytelling exercises  
- Reflection and feedback discussions to help learners grow as improvisers  

How Is This Class Structured? 
This class is designed as an ongoing or drop-in session where students can join anytime. Each class stands alone, meaning no prior experience or previous attendance is required. A typical session includes:  
1. Warm-up Activity – Fun exercises to loosen up and get into an improv mindset  
2. Skill-Focused Games – Interactive improv games that develop different techniques (listening, reacting, teamwork, etc.)  
3. Scene Work – Students will participate in duo or group scenes, applying improv skills in a supportive space  
4. Reflection & Wrap-up – A short discussion to reinforce key takeaways and celebrate each learner’s creativity  

Class Style
This is a fully interactive and participation-based class where students will be playing games, acting in scenes, and engaging with each other throughout the session. Teaching methods include:  
- Live demonstrations – The teacher will model exercises and provide clear instructions  
- Guided practice – Students will play games and receive encouragement and feedback  
- Supportive coaching – Each student is encouraged to step outside their comfort zone in a judgment-free space  

Teaching Style  
I focus on creating a positive, supportive, and high-energy learning environment where all students feel comfortable expressing themselves. Mistakes are celebrated as part of the creative process, and every learner is encouraged to contribute at their own comfort level. My teaching approach is:

How Much Will Learners Get to Interact in Class? 
  
- Learners will participate in group games, partner activities, and solo exercises
- There will be no long explanations —everything is hands-on and experiential  
- Students will receive real-time feedback, encouragement, and coaching throughout the class
