During this class, your child will be introduced to the parts of a book. Next, I will read the story to the students. We will review the life cycle of an apple after our story with a craftivity. Students will learn about the life cycle of an apple. Students will learn about the parts of a book. Students will practice pre-reading skills such as reading from left to right and top to bottom. Students will understand words represent a spoken word and convey a message. Students will answer simple questions about the story. Students will describe elements in a story, for example, characters and/or setting (time, place, and/or environment). Students will learn graphing skills.
