Welcome to Graphic Design 201, the next step in your graphic design education! In this course we will build on the skills learned in 101 and learn how to create more advanced pieces. The main project for the course is to create a gif animation from scratch. You will develop and refine your own illustrative and creative style through each weeks' exercises, and will be encouraged to explore these further between lessons. Week 1Lesson 1Exploring art-style brushesWe will create a swatch board and learn how to shade with art-style brushes.Week 2Lesson 2ShadingWe will learn some additional techniques for creating shading in our artworkWeek 3Lesson 3Exploring the pen toolWe will learn how to use the pen tool and create our own simple illustration.Week 4Lesson 4Designing brushes - part 1Using the techniques we have learned so far, we will begin designing our own brush pack.Week 5Lesson 5Designing brushes - part 2We will continue designing our brushes and convert them into useable brushes.Week 6Lesson 6Animation - part 1We will learn to create simple animations using the frame-by-frame techniqueWeek 7Lesson 7Animation - part 2We will learn how to create more complex animations using the timeline.Week 8Lesson 8Animation - part 3In addition to having the opportunity to share your work, you will work on your own animation, using either the frame mode or timeline mode.

This course requires Adobe Photoshop which can be purchased as a subscription directly from Adobe. Since it requires a bank or credit card to purchase, the account will be created in the parent or adult name.
