We will be covering the topic of figurative language, specifically similes and metaphors. We will review the definitions of both while explaining the differences between the two. We will then go over why figurative language is used before going over examples. We will use video clips in addition to a discussion model. The chat feature will be highly encouraged as a means of interaction. Various Disney music will be used to show examples and discuss the literal vs figurative means. The movies that will be featured include Moana, Frozen and more.

-Students will be able to describe the difference between a simile and a metaphor.
