Many middle schoolers struggle with expanding on their own writing. For example, they will be lacking descriptive details, dialogue, or sensory language that all make their writing truly come alive. The class will start with the learners having five minutes to write the beginning of a story based on a given prompt. From there, learners will share their writing and get constructive feedback on it. This will be a discussion-heavy class where we rotate between writing, feedback and revising. It will be in a small group format.
