The teacher will provide sentence, paragraph, pre-writing, essay, and research writing activities as necessary to identify skill areas that need strengthened and begin working on these. I've taught English for over 25 years in various settings, plus I've been a home school mom for the past 14 years. I have seen many, many students lack a good grasp of basic grammar and writing skills, and it really shows when they get to high school (and higher levels) as they struggle with writing papers and essays. Now is the time to use the language and writing skills that they know to form solid writing habits. It's a great, practical life skill!

Learners will be given additional time and assistance as needed based on their skill level, ability level, and/or unique learning needs. Parents/learners are encouraged to share details about their learning needs prior to our first class.
Learners must write at the sentence level minimally and have a good grasp of basic vocabulary to be able to express main ideas sufficiently.
Students must have a computer or device (charged or plugged in) plus a stable internet connection in order to connect via Outschool. Students should also have paper and pencil by their side to jot down notes and/or ideas. Finally, it is highly recommended that a student use Google docs for this class so as to be most effective and beneficial for both the teacher and the student in seeing/editing in real time.
