批判性閱讀理解技能，三/四年級 - A 部分

Reading comprehension is key.  In this one time, skilled based class, students will read short story passages that I have developed and answer questions such as:  Which word or phrase fits best in the blanks, which is the best sentence to put at the end of the passage, which sentence is the topic sentence, where would this sentence fit best?  We will also discuss the motivation of a character - the how and the why.  This takes a deeper level of comprehension than just answering questions about details and involves critical thinking skills.  We will read the story passages together and decide which answer is the best choice and why.  It is helpful if your learner has a reading level appropriate for their grade or age level.  Your student will get the most benefit from the class if they are willing to interact as we look at the passages presented. If time, writing answers to a short prompt question will also be done.  I keep the class small, so that every learner can get the attention needed, and I teach in a relaxed manner. There is also a part B.  These are interchangeable, so you don't need to take A before part B, etc.  They are just slightly different in the questions, and part B is a bit harder.  Class Rules:  We mute so we do not talk over one another, we raise our hand if we have a question or a comment, we are kind and respectful to everyone, and as per the Outschool rules, the camera must be turned on at the beginning of class so I may verify the learner.
