In this one time trial class, learners will have the opportunity to verbally express themselves, gaining confidence in their speaking skills. Learning to communicate is so important for younger children and speaking in smaller groups with children of similar age helps prepare children for settings where the audience is much larger, such as a school classroom. This class is perfect for children who are hesitant to speak up, those who come from bilingual homes, or those who need to speak without fear. This class is the introduction to the ongoing speaking class noted below.

Hi there! Miss Cindy here! I'm excited to take you into the world of learning, whether that is for an academic subject, such as math, reading, writing or tutoring or a social class which includes public speaking or social interaction.
TYPICAL CLASS ROUTINE:
Greeting/Get to know you time
Class time, including teaching of given topic and practice of that skill
Closing which may include a puppet, a game, or show and tell, depending on the type of class your learner is taking. My goal is to have every child smiling and excited to return to the next class!

27 years of brick and mortar classroom experience

I try to keep students engaged through a mix of hands on teaching and great student interaction. I enjoy learning about each child and making a connection that makes them want to return to class!
PHILOSOPHY OF LEARNING:
Every child is capable of learning, although some may learn in different ways. Making learning fun and working hard to learn produces children who want to learn even more! And isn't that our life goal?! Let's make life-long lovers of learning together!
ABOUT ME:
When I'm not in the classroom, I love to spend time outside walking or working in my yard, reading, or spending time with friends. I also like to bake bread and make cookies.
