In this class, we will be using edible materials (candies, cookies, pudding, etc.) to participate in science activities. Students will be encouraged to taste or eat the science creations. Please read the supply list carefully and verify that your learner is not lactose intolerant or allergic to any of the ingredients. Feel free to substitute any supplies for similar ones that are suitable for your learner.
Warning: Please provide your learner with plastic utensils and paper plates to avoid the danger of using glass or sharp items.

We are going to travel through the pages of a book to learn about the real world and the fantastic world of fictional stories. I have earned a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education (K-6) from Florida International University and I am certified in Elementary Education and hold an Endorsement in ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) (K-12). I have been an elementary school teacher for 15 years and have taught Reading, Writing, Language Arts, Math, Science, STEM, ESOL and even Spanish! Learning is a journey and everyone's path is different, but I believe that meaningful, fun, interactive lessons can empower students to be lifelong learners and readers.
