As students transition to middle and high school, study skills become increasingly important. In this 4 week class, students will learn skills to become more independent, confident, life-long learners. I developed this class as a flex class, because regular check-ins can help build habits. Students will learn to become independent, life-long learners. They will learn skills to organize themselves and study effectively. They will apply these skills to their current classes. They will also learn how to access help and resources when needed.
I have taught a wide range of students in formal and informal settings. I have taught study skills, time management, notetaking, and other life skills as part of my Advisory class and my AVID class in the high school setting.
