Everyone (from kids, to teens, to adults) experiences stress and anxiety in their life to varying degrees, so learning to recognize and manage these feelings is a valuable skill that anyone can benefit from! Learning coping skills, and discussing worries and coping strategies with peers can be an especially helpful experience. In this weekly, ongoing class, students will learn and practice strategies for developing a positive mindset, managing feelings of stress and anxiety, as well as practicing mindfulness, to minimize stress, and maximize productivity and positivity. My hope is for students to leave class each week, feeling empowered, uplifted, encouraged, and equipped with tools to combat stress/anxiety, increase mindfulness, and make the most of each day!
I have a master's degree in School Psychology, and have a great deal of experience in developing and facilitating classes to engage students in managing stress/anxiety and practicing mindfulness strategies.
Learners will want to bring a journal or some paper, and something to write with to each class. Additional materials needed for specific class dates will be listed on the Classroom page the week prior to each class.
