Beginner Level
Experience: 1). You will gain first hand insight into the basic skills that we should all know as children and teens, that will help us to be well versed, skilled, and effective individuals within society. There are even some life saving skills, that may help you in a difficult time in the future. (You can choose to join me for all 16 sessions, or you can choose the specific skills you would like for your child's needs, and join me just for those). 2). You will join me via video, as we talk through the basics, and provide you with a variety of real life scenarios, as well as video clips of demonstrations for several of the skills discussed. 3). We will give you the opportunity to demonstrate several skills through peer interactions: ie. How to handle making a clear and concise product order, how to ask for help, and how to seek out directions from a trusted source, among others. 4). You will gain personal insight about your personality type, and how to grow in character by self reflection. 5). You will have knowledge once completed on how to take simple steps to care for your body, home and household, finances, personal safety, basic first aid, and more. BONUS UPCOMING COURSE: 1). You can join me for an additional course where we will go over Homesteading basics for self sustainability (This will include animal care, growing your own food, home and household care and more advanced tips for tending to a home and homestead). Class Structure/Teaching Style: 1). The class is relaxed, goes at the pace of our learners and is at a beginners level. 2). This course can be taught in a group or individually 1:1 per request. 3). My teaching style is one of direct interaction, and dialogue, to ensure students are engaged. I will also have video clips to demonstrate and provide more clarity when needed. 4). I will also provide slides for specific details that the students can follow. Learning Goals/Expectations/Topics Covered: 1). Understanding 8 basic Life skills that all children and teens should know. 2). Understanding the basic tools required to be productive and effective members of society. (Effective communication, Decision making, Healthy body and mind, Nutrition 101, Home and Household Basics, Basic First Aid: Preliminary Steps, Finances and Money Stewardship, Personal Safety and Situational Awareness). 3). Beginner Level: However, all levels of skills are welcome, as additional skills and insight are given, that even advanced learners can grow from. Homework: 1). Homework and additional tasks post class time are based on individual student and parent preference. However, it is encouraged, as the best learning comes from trying out the skills you have learned yourself. Grading/Assessment: 1). Grades and assessments shall be determined by parental choice and discretion. Grades if given, are to be distributed by the parent, based on their observation of student skills, since this is specific to family completion and material availability. However, guidance can be given upon parental request. Note: The main goal of this course is not to provide a final grade, but to impart a love of learning and a lifelong skill. Parental Guidance: 1). Parental guidance and supervision, must be given whenever necessary, if ever a skill or task requires the use of materials or tools, that must be used with adult permission and observation. This will ensure the safety at all times of our students. As a mom there will never be profane, graphic language or inappropriate media used, as I only provide what I would for my own children and families.

Teacher expertise and credentials
As a Pediatrician, Homeschool mom, and Homesteader, I have a unique combination of skills that I have developed and continue to grow over time, in seeing patients, and caring for my own children. This is a combination of skills and experiences for over 10+ years.
Because of this I teach my own children, and others these simple skills regularly, that we all need to know to equip us in life and have been doing so for several years, via video and in person.
As a Homesteader, I am always looking to sharpen my knowledge in sustainability, and I have a passion to share the skills I have gained with other families, that they may also learn to thrive, and live longer and healthier lives.
This means I am continually growing in my own crafts, and skills through self education, hands on experience, and growth on my personal homestead through my own life experiences.
As a mom and physician I think it is so important to equip our children with life long skills that they can carry with them into young adulthood and beyond.
