Students will learn a variety of:
- letters (and their phonetic sounds)
- numbers (and counting - occasionally some simple addition)
- preschool and kindergarten STEAM and STEM concepts
- days of the week and months of the year
- colors
- songs for preschool and kindergarten (original and classic favorites)
- stories for 3 - 6 year old children (familiar read-along)
- shapes 
In addition, some days will feature a "mystery" object like a building toy, magnifying glass or picnic basket. Students will see glimpses and get hints, be able to ask questions, and then share what they know about this object. At the end of class they will have an activity sheet that will reinforce what we learned.

My name is Tina Cowell and I'm an experienced teacher and principal with 20 years in the classroom. I enjoy teaching students of all ages: preschoolers, kindergarten students who are just learning to reading, as well as graduating high school seniors. I have six years of online teaching experience, particularly with preschool and kindergarten-age children, and know how to keep students engaged throughout a virtual class. As a career teacher and elementary school administrator, I believe all students can be engaged and inspired by an open and relaxed approach to reading. My classes are built around student engagement, interaction and comfort, and encourage a love of reading and discovery. We always have a lot of fun! I have experience with learners on the spectrum, as well as those in gifted programs. I am accustomed to and welcome those who are learning English as a second or third language. I am also sensitive to those who are adjusting to the virtual classroom and just wish to listen. Please reach out to me with any questions you may have.
