This class is instructional and interactive. Students will have access to the presentation materials after the class for further exploration, or sharing with family, as I am constantly adding content. We will examine Haring’s style and use of symbolism using VTS and SEL, as participants develop a rich understanding of this artists local and global impact. Participants will examine various masterworks. Through visual thinking strategies and SEL techniques we will decipher which symbols are the most meaningful, as we incorporate them into our own work. Keith Haring’s underlying message is one of empathy and understanding, which we will also be examining from a Public Art lens.
