The Art Periods will be introduced according the following schedule. NOTE: Students are welcome to enter at any point. The cycle will restart every 17 weeks and students can continue through the cycle until they've studied each lesson. This class will help students understand periods of art history and identify works by famous artists. They will learn to appreciate various styles used within the art periods discussed.
I studied Fine Arts, including courses in Art History and Appreciation, at Louisiana State University, and have a certificate from Texas Academy of Art in Houston, TX. I also work as a professional artist, doing portrait art on commission.
A one-page printable hand-out will be provided for each section prior to class.
All art pieces that are shown and discussed for each art period will be appropriate for the students' ages and for classroom viewing and discussion.
