비유적 언어와 문자적 언어

Writers often use two different types of language - figurative language and literal language.  This course will provide students with the opportunity to gain a clear understanding of these.  The teacher will lead 2 video lessons to ensure that all students have common background knowledge of these types of language.  Together teachers and students will explore several phrases that can have very different means when interpreted figuratively vs literally.  Students will then be given the opportunity to choose a phrase from a given list that will become the foundation used to create a visual representation of both the figurative meaning and the literal meaning of the phrase.  During the final live meeting, students will present their visual representations to the teacher and their classmates and explain the difference in the meaning.
