Weekly updates will be provided one week in advance of each on-going class. Suggested materials will be listed in each update. Alternative ideas and material suggestions will be offered as needed. Consider the following materials to have on hand as standards for this class:
-Access to an outside space (yard, patio, garden, deck, sunroom, porch, etc.). If outside space is not possible due to location or weather I will provide suggestions as to how activities can be completed inside.
-Magnifying glasses/hand lenses
-Small containers with lids.
-Hand shovel or trowel.
-Soil/sand
-Seeds and beans
-Binoculars
-Tennis shoes or other closed toe shoes (for safety).
-Science/safety goggles
-Notebook/writing tools.
-White board/white board markers.

It is recommended that learners wear tennis shoes (sneakers) or other closed toe shoes while attending this class. Sunscreen should be applied prior to class. Learners should have access to drinking water throughout class. Hats and sunglasses can be worn as needed. Safety/science goggles should be available and worn during classes where turning soil or other soil/sand work is completed. One week notice will be provided prior to classes where goggles are needed. Adult supervision is suggested for all classes when learners are able to attend class in an outside environment.
