The Black Death: Medieval Pandemic History

Discover one of the most devastating events of human history, but also the event which will spark the modern age.  The Black Death was a plague with significant consequences and impacts on the development of Western Civilization.  This one time class will explore the 1-causes, 2-symptoms, and 3-consequences of the Black Death on Western Europe in the Middle Ages.  We will explore primary documents from the time including written and visual sources to help the student understand the thoughts about the plague and how people reacted to it, and how authorities attempted to confront it.  We will also discuss short and long term consequences of this plague.
