This class is all about the American Girl Doll Kit Kittredge! In this 3 week class, student will enjoy learning about life in America during 1934, while also learning about the American Girl Doll Kit Kittredge. The students do not have to pre-read the books before class! (After class, however, they might be excited to read them!) We will learn all about American girl Kit Kittredge, and what life was life for her during the Great Depression. We will also learn a little about the Dust Bowl! Since Kit wants to become a reporter when she grows up, we will make our own newspaper all about the Great Depression (that includes real recipes from the era!) The last class we will make cameras for our dolls, just like Kit's!

The students will become familiar with the books about American girl doll, Kit Kittredge. Students will be able to identify facts about the Great Depression while creating a "Newspaper". This will take the first 2 classes. Finally, the student will make a camera for their doll using the plans from Americangirlideas.com.その他の情報

Students will need: papers printed from classroom pencils, pens, colored pencils, markers or crayons. mini Popsicle sticks assorted buttons (will be more specific about this in classroom) Reflective Scrapbook Paper (a silver/ foil color) Duct tape (black looks more like a camera) Printables that will be posted in the classroom

I have a degree in Elementary Education with a Minor in Early Childhood Development. In the classroom, I taught Preschool, Kindergarten, First Grade, and Fourth Grade. After having children, I decided to stay home and homeschool my two girls. I also enjoy teaching my children's homeschooling co-op classes. For the past two years, I have been waking up VERY early in the morning to teach Chinese children how to speak English online. I have really enjoyed teaching online!
