1. Students will learn some of the history of Earth Day from April 22, 1970 until today. 2. Students will participate in a discussion on relevant environmental issues, then and now. 3. Students will be encouraged to think creatively and critically about ways to help sustain the delicate balances of Earth's ecosystems and about what their part is in the balances. 4. Yes, I am old enough to clearly remember the first Earth day, in 1970. I was an impressionable 14 year old ninth grade student, then. I still remember the feeling of hope that someone was concerned about our environment and how our industry, and consumerism were affecting her delicate balance. Fifty years later I am a retired educator who still feels passionately about how we all care for this precious earth we share. I am an avid gardener, amateur herbalist and lifelong learner. I love the outdoors and I love teaching kids! I have been teaching on this platform now for over a year and have enjoyed meeting kids from all over the USA and the world.
