I believe that writing helps us to create the world we envision and the person we are. Teaching children to write from their soul is essential. Writing is how we look into ourselves. Writing poetry is a practice that can bring joy into the lives of others, as well.
Handouts provided: Copies of the poems we explore. Definitions of poetic devices. List of books with Poetry to explore on your own. If your student has written a poem they would like to share, they may bring it to class. There will be an opportunity to share original work at the end of the class.
