- Students will be able to consistently display proper playing posture, embouchure, tone, fingerings, and hand positions on the recorder
- Students will be able to consistently and accurately perform the notes E, G, A, B, C, and D on the recorder
- Students will be able to recognize and perform three rhythm durations (eighth notes, quarter notes, and half notes) as well as the notes E, G, A, B, C, and D on the written music staff
- Students will listen to and make observations about a professional recorder performance
- Students will be able to assess and provide feedback on their own performances and the performances of their peers

After watching the weekly lesson videos, students will be expected to submit a short video recording and a brief written assignment each week. It is recommended that students practice the recorder about 10-15 minutes at least 4 days each week. During practice, students should be reviewing the exercises, techniques, and songs we are focusing on for the week.

Students will be informally assessed for each assignment they submit and will be given feedback in writing and/or video response. Please contact Teacher Janelle if you would like to discuss more formal assessment.
