2-4 horas por semana. Each week, for weeks 1 - 5, I will upload a practice sheet for the students to complete on the concepts covered that week's video.Evaluación
If the parent opts for grades, I will provide assignments to be completed each week that I will grade. Students will also be assessed at the end of the course so they may see ho much they've learned. Parents may also opt for me to record this grade, as well. The assignments and quiz at the end of the course will be not be multiple choice, as students will need to explain answers.Calificación

Grado de EE. UU. 9 - 12
This 6-week course is the 1st of 6 classes in the "Understanding Physics" series. This class will focus on 1-D and 2-D motion. This will include identifying variables in word problems, choosing which formula to use to get the correct answer, and creating and analyzing both motion-time graphs and velocity-time graphs. Along with the conceptual topics of motion being covered, I will be teaching the students how to use, apply, and rearrange kinematic formulas when solving for position, velocity, acceleration, and time. Each week a new lesson will be uploaded, along with a note sheet the students can print to follow along with, and an assignment to practice what they've learned. This class will utilize both Nearpod and Flipgrid. These platforms will allow students to experience online simulations for "Labs" and be able to interact withe each other and myself, through discussion boards, video messages, games, etc. Lessons will include videos, polls, a collaboration activity for students to share ideas, articles for students to read and refer to, open-ended questions, and lots of pictures! There will be an optional quiz given during the 6th week for students to gauge what they've learned through the course. Upon parental quest, I will provide grades for assignments completed and the quiz. Successful completion of all 6 "Understanding Physics" courses mean the student has completed an entire high school physics class. Week 1 Students will be taught the difference in scalar and vector quantities, distance and displacement, and speed and velocity. Formulas and all variables for those formulas will be covered. Week 2 - Students will be learn how to determine positive and negative acceleration, as well as how to analyze data from items in free-fall regarding time and position. Acceleration due to gravity will also be covered. Week 3 - Students will learn to determine which kinematic formula is relevant to the problem they are solving. This week the class will focus on solving word problems and techniques that will help students organize data when attempting to solve motion problems. Week 4 - Students will analyze distance-time graphs and velocity-time graphs. Students will learn how to add vectors mathematically using horizontal and vertical components. Week 5 - Students will learn about two-dimensional motion. The class will partake in an online simulation to investigate the properties of an object in projectile motion. Students will learn to calculate the time in the air and range of a horizontal projectile. Week 6- A review of all concepts covered thus far in the course, and then an assessment will be given to show mastery of the subject matter.
Metas de aprendizaje
Students will improve their understanding of rearranging formulas, organizing data, interpreting motion graphs, and solving physics motion equations.
