In this four week course, students will learn all about the spring season. They will explore growth and change in plants, pollination of flowers, insects, and spring weather through crafts and science experiments.
Each lesson will begin with a vibrant slide show presentation where the students will be introduced to the concept of the week. They will be encouraged to ask questions and participate in discussions. Then, students will participate in the experiment and/or craft of the week. Extra optional science experiments will also be explained. Students may choose to try these after class if they wish.

Here is the breakdown of the weeks!

Week 1: Plants
Students will learn about the parts of the plant and explore what parts of the plant we can eat. They will discuss how plants grow and be introduced to photosynthesis.
Experiment: Chlorophyll prints
Extra optional experiment: Bean plant growing

Week 2: Flowers
Students will look closely at the parts of a flower. They will discuss pollination. Students will understand how flowers drink water.
Craft: Flower painting
Extra optional experiment: Colorful carnations

Week 3: Insects
Students will learn about the characteristics, diet, and habitats of insects. They will explore the life cycles of insects.
Craft: Grass crowns

Week 4: Spring Weather
Students will discuss spring weather. They will understand why these weather patterns occur.
Experiment: Rain in a cup

No prior knowledge about these topics is required in order to participate in this class.
I'm looking forward to teaching your children!
