In this ongoing class, students will be introduced to a new science concept or theme each week. Some examples of topics covered are: density, solubility, magnetism, conductivity, etc... They will learn and practice using scientific vocabulary. We will conduct several experiments each week using simple materials that can be found at home. The students will participate in group activities to reinforce the concept of the week (discussions, trivia games, matching, comparing with Venn diagrams, etc...) Lista de útiles escolares
I will post the materials in the classroom one week before each class. **If you register after the weekly message is posted, you may not be able to see it in the classroom. I try my best to email the list to new students before their first class, depending on how last minute they register. Materials are usually easy to find household items. I also recommend students bring a notebook or folder with paper so they may record their findings each week! If you are ever missing any of the materials, just let me know! There are always alternatives, or you can simply watch the experiments and still enjoy the class! Week of November 17: Buoyancy Dancing Raisins Supplies Needed: A clear glass A clear, bubbly drink (7up, sprite, bubbly water) Raisins (dried cranberries or dried apricots should work too) Optional: Another clear glass Water 1-2 small oranges (clementines or mandarins)
