The learners in this science class will learn about the parts and functions of the brain and nervous system and the body's other organ systems. They will explore how the brain and nervous systems regulate the body's other organ systems.

We will approach the lessons from a scientific and personal perspective. During the lessons, learners will apply their knowledge about the brain and body to themselves.

The classes are standalone, which allows learners to join anytime during the course series and succeed in following the curriculum. Each class will focus on a specific organ system and its function and interaction with the nervous system.

Whether one learns by seeing, hearing, reading, writing, or doing hands-on activities, students of all learning styles will gain knowledge while having a blast in this highly interactive, gamified class. We will achieve learning and interaction by using slide presentations, videos, and activities in class. During the learning portion or at the end of each class, we will engage in quiz challenges on gamified platforms like Kahoot, Blooket, and Gimkit.

The class time of 1 hour is an approximation. I do not schedule back-to-back classes to allow students to complete the gamification activities at the end of the lesson. I recognize that some students have classes immediately after mine. I welcome students to stay if they desire, but students can always leave at the end of the designated class time.

Class recordings are available after each class. Per Outschool's policy, I cannot share a recording without payment of the weekly fee. I cannot share the video for a class during a pause period.

I love science, especially the field of biology. I majored in pre-med in college and completed all the required biology courses. My degree is in psychology with a concentration in biology and English. I teach biology classes and still read about biology just for fun. I cannot wait to share my love for and knowledge of biology with my students.
