Broadway Camp: un curso intensivo de teatro musical de 4 días

In this 4 day Broadway camp, students will get a comprehensive introduction to musical theater acting and performing. 

Day One: 
- Vocal and diction warm-ups. Introduction to Broadway history, a focus on Contemporary Broadway (2000-2023) including "Hamilton, Dear Evan Hansen, Mean Girls, etc..."
- Picking a contemporary musical theater song. We will learn 16-32 bars of a "Contemporary Broadway" song in class. 
- We will dissect the acting style and act through the song! 

Day Two:
-Students are able to perform yesterday's piece if they choose (NOT required!)
-We learn about the Golden Age of Musical Theater (1940-1970) and learn 16-32 bars of a "Golden Age Broadway" song. 
- We analyze and practice the musical theater acting style more appropriate for these decades of musical theater. 

Day Three:
Sondheim! Our final day is dedicated to the late great Stephen Sondheim. We will learn 16-32 bars of Sondheim while learning about Sweeney Todd, Company, and Into The Woods! 

Day Four: 
- Group share! Have you performed in a musical before and want to share your favorite song? Do you have a dream role and want to share it with the class? YAY! This is a confidence-building day. We observe and support our friends while learning about the value of Broadway ensembles, Broadway auditions, and what it's REALLY like to be an actor in NYC!
