Experiencia de clase
In this Flexible Class you will create art through the ages and learn some art History. Please note that this class does not meet live, it is a flexible class, so lessons are pre-recorded. If your child is below or above the age range that’s fine just let me know when you sign up. For younger children you may need to help them. Each week I will post my interactive classroom, which will include a slide show and information about the history of the art we will create, an Art demonstration, so you can create your own beautiful masterpiece. I will post fun puzzles for you to do whilst interacting with the other learners, on what you have learnt. Finished art work should be posted each week on the classroom. Participation is essential to ensure proper understanding of the materials and to promote a sense of community in class. You can post polite comments on each others artwork. Here is a breakdown of what you will do each week:- Week 1 - Ancient Egypt (create a royal Egyptian Cat). In ancient Egypt, cats were linked to the cat goddess Bastet. Many households had pet cats that were important members of the family. Supplies - Black paper, White Paper, Oil Pastels (or crayons), Watercolor Paints, scissors, tape or glue. Week 2 - Ancient Greek and Roman Art (create a Greek Vase, using tissue paper and gold paint). The Ancient Romans created glass goblets that where used only for special occasions. Because they were glass, only a few have survived to today. Supplies - Black Paper, White Oil Pastel (crayon or pencil), Mod podge (or white school glue with water added), old paint brush, Scissors, Small amount of Tissue Paper in 2 colors (I use blue and red), Gold paint, regular small paintbrush. Week 3 - Middle Ages (paint a beautiful stained glass watercolor). Original Stained glass is made from glass that is colored with metallic salts. Small pieces of colored glass are arrayed like a puzzle to form images and designs. Supplies - White watercolor paper, watercolor paints, water, paint brushes, black sharpie or oil pastel, ruler, pencil, scissors. Week 4 - Modern (create a Picasso cubism fish). Picasso painted mostly from his imagination or memory and preferred to paint people whose lives were important to him. He loved animals and even named his daughter, Paloma, which is the Spanish word for Dove). Supplies - White paper, pencil, ruler, black sharpie, something to color with (choose from - watercolors, colored pencils, markers or crayons). How Learners will Interact: Learners interact with one another through playing games, collaborating on artworks, sharing pictures or videos of their artworks, and commenting on classmates’ artworks.
