This is a very small group (two-to-four-students) Algebra 1 class designed to instruct learners in Algebra 1 throughout the school year, 12 sessions at a time, and is intended to be re-enrolled in 8 more times as we progress through the school year in order to complete the entire year of Algebra 1 class. Projected duration is 9/6/23 - 6/17/24. Class will generally meet Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and may be adjusted due to holidays, travel, and progression of the class. For September and October, we will meet on some Tuesdays in place of Monday. Please note the schedule when enrolling for the first section, which consists of 12 sessions.

There will be opportunities for all questions to be answered in reviewing homework assignments. Students will check their homework with the answer key provided and can come to class with any questions. There will be a test after each chapter, as well as semester 1 and semester 2 exams, which will be graded. For those wanting simply to preview Algebra 1, the tests will be optional.

This is a great class for homeschoolers or students wishing to preview Algebra 1. Weekly breakdown of topics covered from Big Ideas Math textbook will be posted and updated. We are working through chapters 1-9.

This is open to anyone wishing instruction in Algebra 1. These sessions are customized to instruct Algebra 1 in a succession of series, 12 sessions at a time, from Big Ideas Math. Any questions, please let me know.

As an engineer and someone who has tutored 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th grade math, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, ACT Math Prep, Pre-calculus, and Calculus, I have a wonderful, unique perspective on the importance of a solid foundation in math, especially pre-algebra; it is essential for all math classes that follow.
I am an industrial engineer who always wanted to be a math teacher. I had fun helping my kids with math homework while they were in school, and when they started college four years ago, I began tutoring math at our local middle school as well as tutoring privately (all grades).
I am able to work with students of all different learning styles and abilities and will work at the group's pace.
I love all math, and I make it fun for kids!
