This fun summer camp is an in depth writing class focused on creative writing. Students will learn to write creative short stories using their imagination. I will provide a writing prompt and guide your student through the writing process. This camp will consist of a smaller group of students to focus more on individualized writing help. Students will learn the parts of a story such as the characters, setting and plot. Students will learn what makes a story creative. Students will also learn how to plan out their story using a mind map and a story arc. We will discuss how we want our stories to be structured and focused. We will talk about the protagonist and antagonist and work on the writing process, which includes story planning, draft writing and editing. During the first week students will make a mind map and story arc for their own story. During the second week, I will assist students in writing the conflict/problem. During the third week, they will finish their individual stories with the resolution or conclusion and share with the class. We will edit their stories for any punctuation mistakes or spelling errors. Class Outline: Week 1) Parts of a Story, Mind Map and Story Arc Week 2) Introduction/Beginning of your Story Week 3) Conflict of your Story Week 4) Finish Up Stories and Edit
