US Grade 4 - 6
This 13-week, 26-lesson writing course is designed for 4th to 6th graders and focuses on six different writing styles. The course aims to enhance writing skills and reading comprehension to build confidence in both writing and reading. Each unit includes engaging activities, guided writing lessons, and a collaborative project. Students will learn to create compelling narratives, informative reports, and persuasive arguments while developing essential language skills and creative presentation techniques. Unit lessons will follow the same 4 lesson format to reinforce techniques learned. Week 1- Lesson 1: Activate prior knowledge 1. Spelling/Vocabulary (word structure, syllables, and meaning related to the reading passage) 2. Reading Comprehension (rotating fiction and nonfiction) 3. Discuss the writing topic to begin thinking about their writing. Lesson 2: Plan & Write 4. Plan writing Homework: 5. Put the plan all together- Write- Draft 1 Week 2- Lesson 3: Edit & Revise 6. Edit- Sentence structure, spelling, word choice, and grammar are practiced in depth (diagramming practice). Homework: 7. Revise- Final Copy Lesson 4: Publish 8. Work in Canva to create a slide for your final presentation. Homework: 9. Complete any final touches to your slide (Submit to Teacher Robin)

Hello! My name is Robin. I have a Master's degree in Elementary Education (Math/Science Emphasis) and hold a K-6 Teaching Certificate in the state of Florida. After over 20 years in the classroom, and with a renewed joy of teaching, I have been teaching online for the last 8 years! Throughout the years, I have taught learners from 2nd - 11th grade, but 3rd-6th grades are where my heart is.
