Students will learn why we see the moon at night and why it seems to change size and shape. We will learn the names of each of the 8 phases of the moon using a fun song and student drawings. Students will also learn the length of the lunar cycle. This interactive class will fly by because the kids will be actively doing something the whole time. They will either be asking or answering questions, drawing pictures, playing a game, or singing the coolest moon phase song ever! Vocabulary introduced in this class includes: - lunar cycle - phases of the moon - waxing - waning - gibbous - crescent - quarter - reflect - revolve/orbit

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello there! Welcome to a place of learning and fun! I am a certified teacher in math & science for grades 4-8.
My classes are all about engagement. I believe that if students are actively DOING something, they will learn more. You'll never hear me talk for more than 3 minutes at a time. I deliver a small chunk of info, and then I let the students process it by doing something with it. It could be a discussion, lab, worksheet, drawing, or game. I love games!
I teach group science classes, math game classes, and math tutoring. The math game classes are designed for kids who already know the concepts, but just need fun extra practice.
I look forward to working with you and your kiddo!
