In this one time class, children will learn exactly WHERE our feces and urine go after we say "good-bye" to them, from the toilet bowl! We will cover all the who, what, why, where, when and how questions around the process of our waste going directly from the toilet, to the waste management systems in our communities! We'll also cover, septic tanks, out houses and airplane toilets! This class will be taught using visual diagrams drawn by the teacher on her trusty chalk board, as well as a demonstration using toys, and fun props to show the exact process. Teacher Heidi, will engage the children with FUN facts, and questions to help keep the curiosity and interest high. At the end of class, Heidi will conduct a fun game to test the children's knowledge on this FASCINATING subject! By the end of this class, your child's burning questions to the mystery of "where our poop goes when we flush" will FINALLY be answered, and they can pass on the torch of knowledge to other inquiring minds! I have a plethora of knowledge and experience to share here on Outschool. I am an E.C.E professional with a background in Waldorf education. I have worked as a personal support person for children with autism. I have also worked as a clown through the Beverly Allen Entertainment company, and have over 25 years of teaching and performing experience. I am currently performing locally as a Singer/Songwriter, and play multiple instruments, including acoustic guitar, bass, 7 string harp and Viola. I've studied voice for over 20 years and have trained with multiple highly sought after teachers.
I believe that children learn best through play, repetition and imitation. I also believe that children require clear and healthy boundaries in order to thrive and grow. When we as adults create a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn in, they can reach their optimal potential in all that they do. As a teacher, and a parent I feel it is most important to ensure that ALL children are acknowledged and recognized for their unique strengths.
My absolute favorite memories are of the times when I have seen, and felt the joy on the faces of the children I have worked with.
