Class Experience

US Grade 2 - 4
As learners progress through school, they will need to know the basic structure of a sentence. In this one-time class, learners will learn about subjects and predicates and how both parts are required to create a complete sentence.

The class is designed to help students understand the concept of subjects and predicates in sentences. To start, we'll talk about the definition of a subject and a predicate. After a firm understanding of the definition, learners will practice identifying subjects and predicates in sentences with Miss K's guidance.

Learners will be given a chance to write their own subjects and predicates with a given exercise to enhance their understanding of the content.

Toward the end of class, compound subjects and predicates will also be introduced (if time allows).

By the end of class, learners will have a solid understanding of subjects and predicates and their importance in forming complete sentences. They will be able to identify subjects and predicates in a sentence and use that knowledge to write grammatically correct sentences.

Learning Goals

Learners will be able to identify and write complete sentences containing a subject and a predicate.

Other Details

Supply List
Learners will be encouraged to take notes and complete an exercise. A piece of a paper and a writing utensil is encouraged.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Hello!
I love ALL things English (grammar, writing, and literature). My passion revolves around helping learners find their passion for English as well. This can be helping them with creative writing, finding a book series they can't put down, or even just some basic English tutoring.

As an educator, I love working with children and making sure they are engaged through each lesson. The more fun they are having in class, the more fun I am having to teach it!

I look forward to meeting new learners and continuing to educate!
