Already comfortable scripting in Roblox Studio? This course will show you how to use Visual Studio Code (VS Code) to make your workflow faster, cleaner, and more organized. This class uses Visual Studio Code. This is an intermediate level course. Students must have roblox studio scripting experience for this course. You do not need experience using Visual Studio Code. This course is NOT about learning how to code. This course is for students with Roblox coding/scripting experience that want to learn how to use Visual Studio Code for their projects. You must have Roblox Studio scripting experience to get the most out of this class. VS Code is a powerful code editor used by professional developers—and with a few tools like Rojo, you can connect it directly to your Roblox projects. In this course, you’ll learn step-by-step how to set everything up and start scripting outside of Studio, with features like auto-complete, syntax highlighting, and version control. If you've ever wished Roblox Studio had better tools for writing and managing code, this course is for you. What You’ll Learn: How to install and set up VS Code for Roblox How to use Rojo to sync your scripts between VS Code and Studio How to organize your game’s code in folders and modules -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The content in this course does not build. Every week is relatively the same. Every week is about using Visual Studio code to manage your Roblox games. Learning Goals
Gain Proficiency in Navigating and Customizing Visual Studio Code
Students will become comfortable adjusting the interface, using the command palette, and personalizing the editor through themes, layouts, and custom shortcuts.Practice Managing Files and Extensions
Students will learn to create, organize, and manage files and folders while exploring useful extensions to enhance productivity within Visual Studio Code.Other Details
Parental Guidance
This class uses Visual Studio Code, a free and widely used code editor. Students will need to download and install Visual Studio Code on a PC or Mac. No external accounts are required, and no coding or programming knowledge is needed. The class content is light-hearted, beginner-friendly, and does not contain any upsetting or sensitive material.
Pre-Requisites
This class is listed as intermediate because Roblox Studio scripting experience is required to get the most out of this course. You do not need any experience using Visual Studio Code.
