US Grade 5 - 8
This course is intended for those that want to understand US or American Civics and History. This class will cover much more than what they would receive in a standard semester course if you stick with us. We will meet twice a week and go over different parts of civics each week. Each week will stand on its own and your learner can drop in and out as needed. The format of each week will follow a similar format. The first meeting will be packet / worksheet and information heavy and the second meeting of the week will be review and will include a game or activity to check comprehension. For some weeks we may cover 2 topics in the same week if information, questions, etc are going quickly. *Schedule may change due to how quickly/slowly a class is going and topics will be updated for the coming months to reflect that. Week of Oct 23 Day 1: Federalist and Anti-Federalists Day 2: The Constitutional Convention Week of Oct 30 Day 1: Early Rebellions Part 1 Day 2: Early Rebellions Part 2 Week of Nov 6 Day 1: Colonial Beginnings Part 1 Day 2: Colonial Beginnings Part 2 Week of Nov 13 Day 1: Separate and Sovereign Day 2: Got Grievances Week of Nov 20 Day 1: Trying Self Government Part 1 Day 2: Trying Self Government Part 2 Week of Nov 27 Day 1: Major Clash?
