Homework
Frequency: includedFeedback: includedDetails: Learners will be asked to complete some required activities outside of the class, and I will be provide suggestions for optional extensions of knowledge. These activities will be a range of reading tasks, DBQ's, forms, analysis questions, research opportunities, and watching short videos. A variety of resources will be shared, in an attempt to include learners who are interested in different things and who need/want the additional practice and/or challenge. No learner should feel overwhelmed!Assessment
Frequency: includedDetails: Formative assessment/feedback will be included weekly. If a more structured grading metric is required (by the parent), I can include this as well. It's very important that parents communicate with me early on if they would like "grades" and how regularly. I tend to focus on learners providing self-evaluations of meeting learning goals, and regular opportunities to improve through formative assessment in face-to-face sessions.Grading

I will supply all materials.
This history about the American Government course is exciting, interesting, and will undoubtedly include sensitive subjects- as is true of all history. I will work hard to ensure discussion remains age-appropriate and pro-actively contact parents if any questionable situations occur.
We will refer to the U.S. Constitution for a majority of the course, along with landmark Supreme Court cases (such as Marbury vs. Madison, Dred Scott vs. Sandford, Plessy vs. Ferguson, and Brown vs. the Board of Education- just to name a few). I will supply all resources for this course.
