Beginner - Intermediate Level
In this weekly Touch-Typing Tutoring keyboarding class, students will continue to enhance their touch typing skills while improving their typing accuracy and speed. They will have the opportunity to socialize and collaborate with others. 🚩REQUIRED🚩 - It is REQUIRED that students attend the beginner level typing class before enrolling in the ongoing course. Learners may be removed from the ongoing class, if they have not completed the beginner level course or have had a previous typing class with us. Please send a message if you have any questions. BEGINNER COURSE LINKS- Are posted at the bottom for your convenience. Typing - Keyboarding - Learn to Type or Improve Your Typing A comprehensive range of curriculum prepares your students with essential skills for school and their future. Engaging content includes Typing Lessons, Typing Tests, and Typing Games, as well as Career Skills, Coding, and fundamental Digital Literacy modules. Students will be able to choose lessons that are tailored to their interest and skill level. We will learn type, improve our typing and play typing games with our classmates. Certificates of Completion will be available to print for each completed level. Weekly Topics / Lesson will be on a rotating basis each week will have a different topic and lesson. These lessons are independent of each and do not build on one another to offer the students flexibility of which lesson they would like to attend. Please let us know if indicate if you would like for your learner to be assigned a specific grade level lesson. Topics and Skills Avaialable: Beginner Level - Home Row keys, top row, bottom row keys and practice sentences. Intermediate Level - Common English Words, Easy Home row words, Easy top row words, Easy Bottom Row Words, On to Sentences with capitalization, punctuation, sentences, and short paragraphs Advanced Level - Skills Builder, Accuracy Focus, Numbers, Letters, Advanced Symbols, Numeric Keypad Computer Basics - Parts of a computer, What makes a computer run, using a mouse, computer lab rules. Internet Basics - Surfing safety, cyber safety, online behavior, Email rules and Manners and Internet Search tips. Technology has improved our lives in many ways. Students began using technology at a young age, unfortunately bad keyboarding habits develop during those times. It is crucial that students learn to type the correct way early, to avoid repeating bad keyboarding habits. It takes a lot of practice to learn to type. Everyone learns to type at their own unique pace and speed. Not all students will be on the exact same lesson during class. Parental Guidance
Students at this young age very often need adult assistance using a computer/keyboard. This class using edutyping.com school site licenses, each student will receive a unique unidentifiable username and password prior to class, that only has meaning to the teacher and parent / student.
PDF instructions will be sent to parents after enrolling explaining how to set up devices for the learner.

🍎Mrs. Lisa T. - Hello, my name is Mrs. Lisa and I'm an experienced educator with a diverse background. My areas of expertise and certification include Kindergarten through 6th grade teacher, 7th and 8th grade all four core areas, Gifted and Talented Teacher and Director of Education, Special Education Grades 4 through 12 specialist as well as building principal for PreK through 8th grade. During Covid shutdowns and quarantines I discovered that my students and I loved the online platform. I taught in a one to one school. Every student had a laptop as well as a school hotspot if their family asked for one. I chose not to do the minimum "office hours" as my school required. I felt this did not meet my students' needs. I ran an online classroom during regular school hours as well as recorded the class for those students who were unable to connect with us or needed to hear the lesson more than once. My experience as a principal resulted in greatly improved learning for all students. The gifted students improved as well as those with learning disabilities. I believe in high expectations for all.
