Tutor - Private Reading Tutoring (4 Private Sessions Included)

I am skilled at teaching early readers. When I taught a Kindergarten class, 100% of my students met or exceeded their RIT growth goals on Standardized Reading Exams, whereas nationwide, only 50% of students meet these goals. Grow with me.

Class Experience

Short vowel sounds will be taught (A, E, I, O, U) so your child can learn to match the letter A with the (short A) sound. Students will begin by practicing identifying the short A sound in the -ad and -at word families (i.e. glad, mad, sad, sat, hat). They will continue through each vowel sound, using a tapping method, where they learn to tap out sounds.

This tapping method is very effective for teaching reading. Next, each child will practice sounding out short vowel sound words on their own utilizing the tapping method. I teach reading, along with the Language Arts standards each child should learn during the academic year.

I will also instruct parents how to teach the tapping method to their own child, so that the learning can continue at home even after the tutoring sessions are completed.
