Class Experience
This class is for beginners who have never played the trumpet, or have only been playing for a short period of time. 1 - We will assess where you are on your trumpet journey, where you want to go, and how we are going to get you there. We will also get to make a sound on the instrument! 2 - Students will learn about the importance of air flow and posture. We will begin doing some simple exercises that will get you playing with a good tone quality. 3 - You will be introduced to sheet music!...
Students will learn how to produce a sound on the trumpet, proper trumpet fingerings, how to read sheet music, and how to have a great time with the coolest instrument ever invented!
You will be assigned weekly practice routines that I will give during or after class. Daily practice is advised for optimal results.
Working trumpet - can be found for less than $100. Valve oil - $5-$10 "Accent on Achievement for Bb Trumpet" Method book. - $15
Students will be assessed each week to observe what progress has been made since our last lesson. There will be no grades in this class.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
We will be using the book "Accent on Achievement" for Bb Trumpet.
