I have a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education and a Master's Degree in Educational Technology. I hold a professional New York State teaching certificate in Music Education for K-12. Additionally, I have taught music in a public school district in Rochester, New York for over nine years. During this time, I've taught band, orchestra, and general music at both the elementary and secondary levels. I have over nine years of experience teaching all band instruments in elementary, middle, and high school including trumpet, trombone, clarinet, saxophone, flute, percussion, oboe, and tuba.
Homework Offered
Musicians in my class will be assigned weekly practice exercises such as warm up routines, scales, and songs from mutually agreed upon lesson books. These assignments are to be completed for the next lesson as lessons will build upon each other.1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Musicians will be informally assessed based on their progress and the effort made each week. No letter grade will be given.Grades Offered
1. Instrument + necessary instrument supplies (i.e. reeds for clarinet/saxophone, valve oil for brass instruments) 2. Foldable music stand (these can be found on Amazon for under $20 or at your local music store) 3. Lesson book (I will reach out to you to determine which lesson books and materials will be best suited for your musician's skill level. Examples of lesson books that may be recommended include Essential Elements and/or Breeze Easy.) *Printer (will only be used to print music if your learner doesn't have his/her lesson book before our first class)
