US Grade 4 - 7
Beginner - Intermediate Level
In this class, students will learn how to use Microsoft Excel, discovering its powerful capabilities by tracking their own trading cards. Students should have at least ten trading cards that they will log in an Excel spreadsheet, whether they're Pokemon, baseball, Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh or other cards. This class will not only teach the basics of Excel, but it will excite students to discover ways they can use Excel in their everyday lives. The course kicks off by introducing essential terminology and discussing the many uses of the program. From there, students will get hands-on experience creating their own spreadsheets, guided by a live demonstration on my screen. To fully engage, it's crucial that students have Microsoft Excel already installed on their computers, enabling them to follow along and experiment as I lead the way. Throughout the course, students are encouraged to participate. For a list of weekly topics, please see the "𝙎𝙮𝙡𝙡𝙖𝙗𝙪𝙨" section. 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗡𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗱: --To ensure a seamless learning experience for all, please have your learner signed into Excel before the class begins. While no prior Excel experience is necessary, basic computer knowledge (using a mouse, keyboard, and launching programs) is recommended. --Learners should bring at least ten trading cards to class. They can be one type of card (example: all Pokemon cards) or a mix of cards (example: baseball and Yu-Gi-Oh cards). 𝗧𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗲𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 will be integrated into the class. In instances where learners face challenges, learners will be able to share their screens or grand me remote access. This approach guarantees that all topics are covered, even if certain steps need to be revisited at the end of the class to troubleshoot with individual learners.
