Class Experience

This club is open to beginner collectors that are just starting out, and seasoned collectors as well! The only thing needed to join the club is an interest in Disney Lorcana card collecting! Having your own cards is a plus, but not required. My teaching style is a conversational approach that is learner led and instructor facilitated.

With club sessions being learner-led and instructor facilitated, the session content will change week to week dictated by learner's interests, questions and conversations. Each club session will have a show & tell element, where club members may share their favorite cards, and the rest of the session will be learner-led Disney Lorcana discussion and card care tips. Everyone can bring their cards to our sessions for show and tell, and even open packs online if they want to!

Students should bring their questions about Lorcana cards and must be willing to interact and share their knowledge about Disney or Lorcana with each other. Even if they just want to listen to learn more, they should be willing to ENGAGE by asking questions once in a while and positively commenting on each other's contribution so to build interaction and a sense of community! They will build their conversational skills while sharing their collections with each other.

See an example of a 4-week schedule of topics below!

Week 1: Meet and Greet- club members share their favorite Disney character/Lorcana card. Learner-led Disney Lorcana card show and tell. Then a Disney Lorcana overview of all sets released to-date and the "chase" cards from each set.

Week 2: Meet and Greet- club members share their favorite Disney movie. Learner-led Disney Lorcana card show and tell. Then discuss card care tips and organization.

Week 3: Meet and Greet- club members share their least favorite Disney character and why. Learner-led Disney Lorcana card show and tell. Discover how to do a proper value estimations of collectible Disney Lorcana cards. Identify top value Disney Lorcana cards.

Week 4: Meet and Greet- club members brainstorm an idea for a new Disney movie. Learner-led Disney Lorcana card show and tell. Discover upcoming sets for Disney Lorcana and guess on the new "chase" card.

As a long time teacher with a Masters in Instructional Design as well as an avid card collector, I realize that students need a place to share their common interests with a community that is just excited about their hobbies as they are! We will not actually play the Disney Lorcana card game, but rather have a fun, laid back place to talk about card collecting tips/tricks, and promote conversational skills.

*Some students may be very accomplished in their Disney and Lorcana card collecting knowledge and depending on the session might not learn a new tip they didn't know before. However, they can share their knowledge with each other, and someone can learn from them! The benefit of this club is the opportunity to learn something new as well as have a COMMUNITY and build FRIENDSHIPS with others interested in Disney Lorcana card collecting!
Learning Goals
Students will improve their comprehension and knowledge of tips and tricks regarding Disney Lorcana card collecting, new or old sets, careful card storage, value estimation of cards, and basic knowledge of the card game.

Hello!!
So excited to meet you! I teach classes that range from nerdy to artsy, ages 3-18. Currently, I teach these classes: babysitting, child development/psychology, fashion design, interior design, adulting 101, money and finances, sewing, cooking, study skills, career investigations, and more! I have a Masters of Education in instructional design.
My philosophy of teaching is to guide, encourage, support and cheer on the kids as they learn. I want my students to love learning and realize it can be fun! Interactive, relationships, projects, and humor are the key ingredients to my teaching style :)
In my free time I love to play with my kitties and work on their instagram page, as well as hang out with my husband! We collect Pokemon and Digimon cards together. Message me if you are interested in taking any classes. Looking forward to it!
