Beginner Level
In this one-on-one online tutoring session, I offer a calm and patient approach to helping students learn 2D animation using the ToonSquid app. 

Whether you're a beginner or looking to refine your skills, I guide you through the essential techniques of 2D animation at your own pace. 

From the basics of drawing and timing to creating smooth animations and refining your workflow, I'll be there to answer your questions, provide tips, and support you through each step. 

Together, we'll unlock your creativity and help you bring your ideas to life in a fun and manageable way. Let's make learning animation an enjoyable experience!

Here are some topics that can be covered:

Introduction to ToonSquid:
   - Getting familiar with the app interface.
   - Setting up your workspace.
   - Understanding tools and features in ToonSquid.

Basic Animation Principles:
   - Overview of the 12 principles of animation (squash and stretch, anticipation, staging, etc.).
   - How to apply these principles in ToonSquid.
   - Practice exercises to understand timing, spacing, and ease in/ease out.

Drawing and Design Basics:
   - Tips for creating appealing and clear 2D characters and objects.
   - Sketching and drawing with ToonSquid's tools.
   - Using layers and shapes effectively.

 Keyframing and Timing:
   - Understanding keyframes and how they drive animation.
   - How to manage timing and create smooth transitions between frames.
   - Techniques for creating fluid and natural movement.

 Frame-by-Frame Animation:
   - How to create hand-drawn animations using frame-by-frame techniques.
   - Understanding the importance of in-betweens for smooth animation.
   - Working with Onion Skinning to refine movements.

Animating Characters:
   - Basics of character rigging.
   - Simple walk cycles and movements.
   - How to animate facial expressions and body language.

Adding Color and backgrounds:
   - Coloring your characters and backgrounds.

 Animating in Loops and Cycles:
   - Creating seamless animation loops (e.g., a bouncing ball or walking cycle).

The lessons are customized based on your student's individual needs. Keep in mind this is a 1-hour session and some topics may need more than one session. 

I can also work with students on specific projects to apply what they've learned in real-time.

ToonSquid is available for iPadOS. It is required for the class, and can be purchased here: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/toonsquid/id1573778812. It does not have a free trial and is a one-time purchase.
Supply List
The student needs access to an iPad and Toonsquid to participate in the tutoring sessions.
